To me, July is the heart of summer. The days are at that sweet spot; long enough to eat dinner outside and a little later, a thunderstorm can cool things off quickly, the pressure of fall planning hasn't creeped in yet.

I've been doing monthly recaps on the Cozy Merc Instagram for a few months now and I plan to expand them a little bit here. Expect little personal tidbits as well as Cozy Mercantile news and updates in these recaps. I want this to be a place where I can look back because I'm nothing if not sentimental.
Welcome to the highlights of July of 2023!

July happened to have 5 weekends so it felt extra long. I often feel a lot of pressure in the summer to fill every single day with SOMETHING or try not to feel bad for not spending tons of time outside. But it was full of both exciting and mundane moments, a.k.a authentic living

We hosted my childhood friend and her husband for dinner early in the month

LBI Polaroid
Spent a long weekend in LBI with some friends

I also spent a time with my girlfriends catching up, dinner dates, making s'mores, and seeing the Barbie movie. Which pleasantly surprised me! We also started watching Suits. We're in the midst of season 3 but by the time you read this we'll most likely be into season 4.

One of the most exciting things from this month was the launch of The Sketchbook Collection!  I had so much fun leaning into #WorldWatercolorMonth and wanted my favorite pieces to be shared with all of you instead of hidden away in my sketchbook. They are original pieces and custom framed in the USA. I'm pretty excited about them - check out the collection!

Lastly, we celebrated my 33rd birthday at the end of the month with family and happened to be in NYC for 48 hours on the actual day!
